Our Philosophy
A Small Program With High Standards
Pampered Feline is a home-based Maine Coon cattery in Northern Virginia. We breed selectively, with limited litters, careful pairings, and hands-on care from birth. Every kitten leaves with a health guarantee, a written contract, and a family that knows their name.
Our kittens are raised underfoot from day one, with DNA-tested parents screened for the conditions that matter in the breed, and temperaments selected for confidence and steady company.
Our Program
Meet the Parents
European Championship Bloodlines · CFA Registered
Each breeding cat is selected for temperament, health, and balanced European type. We prefer lines known for bone, structure, strong muzzles, and clean profiles. Color and coat are secondary to what the cat is.
Kings
Our Studs

Aedion
Blue Silver Shaded (AS11)
Aedion (Eyktan Navarro - show name) is our foundation sire and the heart of our program. He is deeply affectionate, endlessly patient, and completely at ease with children, other cats, and household chaos. He follows his people from room to room, greets every visitor like an old friend, and has never met a lap he didn't want to occupy. His temperament sets the tone for every kitten we produce.

Rowan
Black Silver Tabby (NS22)
Rowan is a gentle giant in every sense. He is calm, affectionate, and wonderfully tolerant, the kind of cat who settles beside you without being asked and stays as long as you'll have him. He is exceptional with children and adapts easily to new people and environments.

Queens
Our Queens

Feyra
Black Tortie with Tabby Markings (F22), Polydactyl (6/6/6/6)
Feyra is everything a Maine Coon queen should be. She is warm, social, and openly affectionate with everyone she meets. She raises her kittens with the same gentle confidence she brings to every interaction, and her kittens are handled daily from birth. Children adore her. She adores them back.

Championship Results
Our cats compete and earn titles because the standard matters. Championship recognition confirms that what we see in our home holds up under independent evaluation.
Our Standards
Health, Ethics, and Care
We hold ourselves to a transparent standard. Every decision in our program starts with the health and welfare of our cats.
Genetic Testing
We DNA-test our breeding cats for the conditions most relevant to Maine Coons.
- HCM Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The most common heart disease in cats. We screen for the known genetic marker.
- SMA Spinal muscular atrophy. A neuromuscular condition. We test to ensure no affected kittens are produced.
- PKDef Pyruvate kinase deficiency. An enzyme disorder that can lead to anemia. We screen all breeding cats.
Our health testing program goes beyond the industry standard. Both parents in every litter receive echocardiographic screening by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist, repeated annually for males and biennially for females. This cardiac ultrasound detects structural heart changes that DNA tests cannot, since HCM in Maine Coons involves over 100 genetic variants, only one of which has an available DNA test. In addition to cardiac screening, all breeding cats receive a full Wisdom Panel genetic health screen covering 50 heritable conditions.
Heart and Joint Health
DNA testing catches genetic markers. Ongoing monitoring catches what genetics alone cannot.
Hearts are monitored by cardiac ultrasound as cats mature. We track results over time and adjust breeding decisions based on findings.
Hip assessments are part of our evaluation process. Maine Coons are a large breed, and joint health matters for long-term quality of life.
Our Commitment to Our Cats
Our breeding cats stay with us for life. We do not retire or rehome our kings and queens. They are family.
Each queen is limited to 2 litters per year maximum, with appropriate rest between litters.
Kitten Socialization & Preparation
We spend significant time training and loving your future furry family member. Every kitten receives:
- Daily nail trimming from birth
- Extensive paw handling and toe bean play to ensure comfort with grooming
- Cat carrier acclimation for stress-free vet visits
- Bite inhibition training and litter box training
- Socialization with children and exposure to household noises
- Daily human interaction — our kittens thrive on affection and will not do well without it
- Kitten face massage techniques to build trust and bonding
Daily Care
Our cats live indoors in a clean, enriched environment. They receive a balanced diet formulated for the nutritional needs of Maine Coons.
Ethical Practices
- We do not declaw and require adopters to agree to the same.
- We work with a feline-friendly veterinarian who understands breed-specific needs.
- Every kitten is placed with a written contract outlining our commitment to their lifelong care.

72-hour guarantee: Kitten must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of pickup (excluding Sundays and holidays). Covers viral and bacterial illness during this period.
FeLV/FIV testing: Must be conducted within 72 hours. If positive, kitten is returned with full documentation for replacement or refund (minus $400 deposit).
One-year genetic guarantee: Covers fatal genetic conditions (HCM, SMA, PKDef, hip dysplasia) diagnosed within one year. Requires written veterinary statement or necropsy report. Replacement kitten of comparable quality provided at our discretion. No medical costs reimbursed.

- Kitten boarded before completing core vaccine series
- Kitten spayed/neutered before 7 months
- Failure to maintain communication with us
Our liability does not exceed the purchase price.
Do you offer breeding rights?
All kittens are sold on spay/neuter contracts. Breeding rights are not offered as standard. We may consider breeding rights case-by-case for approved CFA or TICA registered catteries with comparable health testing protocols.
Spay/neuter requirement: Must be completed by 10 months of age for both males and females. We recommend scheduling between 7 and 10 months. CFA registration papers withheld until proof of alteration provided.
Penalties for breeding without permission:
- $5,000 penalty if proof of spay/neuter not provided by 10 months
- $3,000 per breeding occurrence if kitten is bred without written breeding rights
- $2,000 per kitten born (whether purebred or mixed)
These terms are enforced and prosecuted.
What vaccines do you recommend?
We recommend core vaccines only:
- FVRCP (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia)
- Rabies
We do not recommend the FeLV (feline leukemia) vaccine due to risk of adverse reactions. Our kittens are indoor-only and our breeding cats are FeLV negative.
Important: Give vaccines one at a time, at least 3 weeks apart. Do not allow your vet to give multiple vaccines in one visit. Schedule spay/neuter surgery and vaccinations at least one week apart (four weeks preferred).
What if I need to rehome my cat in the future?
Our contract includes a lifetime return policy. If you are ever unable to keep your cat for any reason, you must contact us first. We will either take the cat back or approve the new home.
The kitten will never be:
- Sold, given away, or transferred without our approval
- Surrendered to a shelter or rescue
- Sold to a pet store
- Given to a laboratory
- Abandoned
Unauthorized rehoming results in a $2,500 penalty, enforceable in Virginia.

Deposit and Payment
A $400 non-refundable deposit is due upon signing your purchase agreement. This deposit secures your reservation and is applied toward the total purchase price. The remaining balance is due one week before your kitten goes home. We accept Zelle, bank transfers, and cash.
Spay/Neuter
All pet kittens are sold on a spay/neuter contract. Alteration is required by 10 months of age for both sexes. CFA pedigree papers are withheld until you submit documentation of the procedure from your veterinarian.
Health Guarantee
A veterinary exam is required within 72 hours of pickup. We provide a one-year guarantee against hereditary or congenital conditions. FeLV/FIV testing is required within 72 hours of pickup as a condition of the guarantee. Kittens leave health-checked and current on vaccinations.
Indoor Only

No Declawing
Declawing is prohibited under our contract. It is an amputation procedure with documented long-term physical and behavioral consequences. Regular nail trimming and quality scratching posts are the appropriate alternatives.
Rehoming
We retain first right of refusal if you can no longer keep your cat at any point in its life. Surrendering a Pampered Feline cat to a shelter or rescue is not permitted. Transfers to another household require our written approval. We take this responsibility seriously and will work with you to find the right solution.
Breeding Restriction
All kittens are sold as pet-only companions unless a separate written breeding rights agreement is executed prior to purchase. Breeding rights are available on a case-by-case basis to approved CFA or TICA registered catteries with documented health testing programs. Unauthorized breeding is a breach of contract and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
