The Cattery
A Home-Based Program, Not a Storefront
Pampered Feline Maine Coons is a small, home-based cattery in Northern Virginia. We breed selectively, with limited litters, careful pairings, and hands-on care from birth. Kittens are raised underfoot in our home, not in a kennel or cattery building, and handled daily from the day they're born.
Every kitten leaves with a health guarantee, a written purchase agreement, and a family that already knows their name. We are CFA registered, and our sire Aedion holds a CFA Champion title.
The Breed
What Is a Maine Coon
Maine Coons are one of the largest domestic cat breeds, known for tufted ears, a long shaggy coat, and a broad, muscular frame that develops fully over three to five years. They're often called gentle giants for good reason: the breed has a reputation for steady, affectionate temperaments and a genuine attachment to their people, sometimes described as more dog-like than cat-like in how closely they follow their family from room to room.
We select our breeding cats for balanced European type, meaning bone, structure, strong muzzles, and clean profiles, with color and coat as secondary considerations. Temperament matters just as much: we select for confidence and steady company, not just looks.

What Sets This Program Apart
CFA Registration and European Champion Lines
Our cats are CFA registered, and every kitten's pedigree traces back to European championship bloodlines. Our sire Aedion holds a CFA Champion title, earned at the Greater Baltimore Cat Club show.
HCM Cardiac Screening
Both parents in every litter receive echocardiographic screening by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist, repeated annually for males and biennially for females. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, the most common heart disease in cats, involves over a hundred genetic variants in Maine Coons, and only one has an available DNA test. Cardiac ultrasound catches structural heart changes that DNA testing alone cannot.
Wisdom Panel Genetic Screening
Beyond cardiac screening, every breeding cat receives a full Wisdom Panel genetic health screen covering fifty heritable conditions, including HCM, SMA, and PKDef markers. Test results for both parents are available to buyers.
Indoor-Only Placement
Every kitten is placed as an indoor-only companion under our purchase agreement. Free-roaming outdoor access isn't permitted; supervised harness walks and enclosed catios are. It's a condition of the health guarantee, and it's how we protect the long-term health and safety of every cat we place.
Local Pickup Only
We Don't Ship. You Meet Us Here.
We don't ship kittens, and we don't use cargo or courier services of any kind. Every kitten goes home the same way: an in-person pickup at our home in Northern Virginia, where you can meet the parents, see how the kittens were raised, and ask questions face to face before you take your kitten home.
That keeps our program small by design, and it means every family who brings home a Pampered Feline kitten has stood in our home first. We work with families across Northern Virginia and the greater Washington, DC metro area, from Arlington and Alexandria to Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William County.
